Directions

Please note, the tourism office is staffed by volunteers. In the event that a volunteer is not available, the main office will be closed, but restrooms and the hallway brochure rack are still available.

  • Pick up information about local attractions, shopping and dining.
  • Assist in finding what local businesses are open on the day of your visit
  • View displays put together by our Historical Society about karst topography and the history of our area
  • Rest and view ‘Decoding the Driftless’, a documentary about the unique geology of our area, featuring Niagara Cave!
  • The Historical Society also has an interactive history video about the Century Farms in our area — a must watch for fans of local history. 
  • Point out local Amish stores in the area
  • Help check out bikes and helmets

Visitor Center Building
The building is open daily.

Restroom & Hallway Brochure Rack Access
May 1 – September 1: 8am-8pm
October 1 – 31: 8am-6pm
November 1 – April 30: 8am-4pm

  • Clean bathrooms
  • Water fountain with bottle filler
  • Brochures and Flyers
    with information on local businesses, events, and services.

Harmony Visitor Center is also Home to Numerous Displays!

Some of the exhibits you can see are:

  • Century farms video exhibit displaying several community members stories as well as videos of local farmland and historical Harmony photos.  
  • Exhibits showcasing photos of historic Harmony 
  • Printed stories of Harmony’s past
  • Information on locally found Karst landscape alongside fossils discovered in the area 
  • Special exhibit about Herbjørn Gausta, an influential Norwegian artist buried here in Harmony.  
  • Information and photos on local Veterans Exhibit on our local train depot featuring historic photos and an original Harmony train depot ticket counter 
  • Information available regarding Harmony’s McMichael Elevator  

Historic Harmony Walking Tour

There is also an incredible Historic Harmony walking exhibit in downtown Harmony.

This Historical Signage Project was spearheaded by the Harmony Area Historical Society, and was made possible thanks to funding and support by local individuals and organizations. You can experience this walking exhibit two ways.

  • Take a scenic walk downtown, noticing the signage as you go.
  • Pick up a brochure from the Visitor Center  
  • Located in front of the visitor center is a display of the locations for each sign and gives extra historical information about Harmony.
