4pm-10pm Monster Bash Gala “Halloween in July” Food, fun, music, building tours, silent auction, games & more! Located in the Monster Bash Building (formerly Slim’s Woodshed) Costumes optional. Free will donation to attend, proceeds support the Monster Bash Building & Music and Arts of Fillmore Central

6pm-1am Masquerade Party & Costume Contest at On The Crunchy Side Show off your costumes for a chance to win prizes, and purchase raffles to support the Fillmore Central Monster Bash

9am Ecumenical Service in Selvig Park Sponsored by local churches. Please bring your own chairs. In case of rain, service will be held at Greenfield Lutheran Church

10am Ecumenical Brunch in the Selvig Park Picnic Shelter, Enjoy fruit, muffins, bars & coffee for a freewill donation, hosted as a fundraiser for the Golden Happenings Senior Group

1st Annual Harmony Sings Amateur Vocal Contest @ The Old Legion Hall

Harmony’s first annual Harmony Sings contest is an amateur vocal contest open to Harmony residents ages 15-25- this includes Harmony based college students! The contest is being offered through the Harmony Area Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with our 4th of July festivities. The contestant who takes first place will go on to represent Harmony in the September 24th Statewide Minnesota Sings Contest in St. Paul. Contestants must still be in the age range of 15-25 on the contest date of September 24th.

The Harmony Sings Contest is scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 2nd at 2pm at The Old Legion Hall in Harmony. All singers will be asked to provide a backing track to accompany them, please be sure yours works on a CD player not just in your computer. They should be CD-R, not +R. If you are looking for a new song, Amazon Tunes, iTunes and several other sites online feature thousands of titles. Be sure it is in your key before you buy it!

Prizes for the July 2nd Harmony Sings Contest

First Place:

  • $500
  • Harmony Business Prize Package
  • Will go on to compete at the state level in the official Minnesota Sings State Amateur Vocal Contest on September 24th in St. Paul.
  • One night overnight lodging for two at the Minnesota Sings venue
  • Two complimentary tickets to the MN Sings Contest for your guests
  • Will be honored in Harmony’s 4th of July Parade

Second Place:

  • $100 Harmony Dollars from the Harmony Area Chamber of Commerce
  • Harmony Business Prize Package
  • May be called upon to represent Harmony at the September 24th Minnesota Sings if the first place contestant is unable to complete their commitment to the contest.

Third Place:

  • Gift Certificate from On The Crunchy Side

If you go on to represent Harmony during the September 24th, 2017 Minnesota Sings Competition, you will be competing for a chance at the following prizes:

First Place for September 24th Statewide Minnesota Sings Contest:

  • $3,000 cash for the contestant
  • $1,500 for your favorite hometown charity
  • $1,000 for their sponsor
  • 6 hour recording session at The Garage- music venue and recording studio located in Burnsville, MN- complete with studio musicians and a producer

Second Place prize includes $2,000 cash for the contestant and $750 for the event sponsor, Third Place prize is $1,000 for the contestant and $500 for the event sponsor, Fourth Place prize is $500 for the contestant and $250 for the event sponsor.
