Start With the Drive
Getting here is part of the fun.
The landscape surrounding Harmony looks particularly good in fall, when the limestone bluffs, wooded valleys and rolling farmland begin changing color. Take your time on the country roads and watch for Amish farms and roadside stands along the way.
Fall brings pumpkins, squash, gourds, baked goods, jams and other seasonal finds to many local Amish stands.
Once you’re in town, stop at the Harmony Visitor Center for an Amish country map and information to help plan your route. You could easily build an entire Harmony day around deciding what you’re going to eat next.
Start with a seasonal coffee menu, pastries or breakfast at Gabby Lou’s Kitchen. Stop for lunch or dinner at Estelle’s Eatery, The Bite or On The Crunchy Side, and don’t forget to see what seasonal specials have made their way onto the menus. When you’re ready to sit down with a drink, Harmony Spirits Distillery makes its spirits right here in Harmony and rolls out a fall cocktail menu for the season. Better yet, you can grab takeout from one of Harmony’s restaurants and bring it along.

Give Yourself Time to Shop
Here’s where a two-hour stop in Harmony has a tendency to turn into an entire afternoon.
Downtown you’ll find an eclectic mix of locally owned shops, including Bee Balm Boutique, Seed & Stone, Tinker & Makes, Harmony Mercantile, Village Depot & Village Schoolhouse Gift Shops, Farm Charm, Charming Farmer and one of Harmony’s newest additions, Green Loop Refillery.
Looking for vintage? You’re going to need a little more time.
Stardust Retro Revival offers 11,000 square feet of antiques, vintage and retro finds, while New Generations of Harmony adds another 10,000 square feet of treasure hunting.
And yes, you can absolutely come to Harmony looking for nothing in particular and leave with an antique lamp, a new outfit, Amish-made jam and something you didn’t know existed an hour earlier.
That’s part of the experience.
Then Get Outside
One of Harmony’s biggest attractions is actually underneath it.
At Niagara Cave, descend underground to explore one of the country’s most unique caves, complete with fossils, formations and an underground waterfall. Above ground, visitors can play 18 holes of mini golf or try gemstone mining.
Fall is also prime time for the Harmony-Preston Valley State Trail. Cooler temperatures make biking and walking more comfortable, while changing leaves provide the scenery.
Prefer your outdoor recreation with a golf cart? There’s also Harmony Golf Club. A nine-hole, open to the public golf course with a full bar inside and lovely patios to enjoy a frozen pizza & cocktail on post game.

Pick a Fall Weekend With Something Extra Going On

Fall for Harmony – September 19 brings a full day of fall fun to town, including the Harmony Arts Board’s Art on the Green Makers Market, sidewalk sales, pop-ups, samples, children’s activities and special happenings at businesses throughout Harmony.
Then October gets spooky.
Monster Bash Haunted House returns for multiple nights beginning October 9. The locally produced haunt changes from year to year and supports youth involvement in the arts. Check the Monster Bash Haunted House website for the complete 2026 schedule and details.
And on October 24, it’s time for Haunted Harmony, when family friendly Halloween festivities take over town.
So, What Does a Perfect Fall Day in Harmony Look Like?
That’s up to you.
