Whether you’re here for a weekend getaway, a quick visit, or just passing through bluff country, here’s how to enjoy Harmony with your dog by your side.

🐾 Grab a Bite (or a Sip) With Your Pup

Estelle’s Eatery & Bar
Enjoy fresh, locally sourced food on the dog-friendly patio at Estelle’s. It’s a great place to unwind after a stroll around town while your dog relaxes at your feet. Don’t be surprised if the staff stops by to say hello to your pup, too!

BReaKeRs
This local favorite offers a walk-up window, making it easy to order sandwiches, snacks, or ice cream without leaving your dog behind. It’s a perfect pit stop on a warm day—grab a cone and a shady spot, and you’re all set.

Harmony Spirits

It’s a great spot to sample their craft spirits or cocktails while your pup lounges in the shade. The laid-back vibe and open outdoor space make it an easy stop for travelers with pets in tow.

🐾 Local Pet Services

🏨 Staying Overnight With Your Dog

If you’re planning to stay in Harmony with your pet, it’s important to check ahead on lodging policies. Country Lodge Inn does allow small dogs, but only by reservation.

🐶 Note from Country Lodge’s website: Pets under 30 lbs are welcome by prior arrangement only—be sure to call ahead at (507) 886-2515 to book your stay. Unauthorized pets, or  pets over 30 lbs, may result in a significant fee.

🐾 In Case of Emergencies

Traveling with pets means being prepared for the unexpected—and thankfully, Harmony has a local veterinary clinic ready to lend a hand if your dog needs care while you’re in town.

Harmony Vet Clinic welcomes appointments for visiting pets whenever their schedule allows. Whether it’s a quick health check, help with an unexpected issue, or simply peace of mind during your stay, the friendly team here is happy to assist. • 🧳🐾 Tips for Traveling With Your Dog

Whether it’s your first road trip with a pup or you’re seasoned pros, a little prep goes a long way. Here are a few helpful reminders for a smooth visit to Harmony—or wherever your travels take you:

  • Pack the essentials: Bring food, water, bowls, leash, waste bags, and your dog’s favorite toy or blanket to help them feel at home on the go.
  • Keep vet records handy: Especially proof of vaccinations and any medications your dog needs. These are helpful in case of emergencies or if you’re using local services like grooming or boarding.
  • ID tags + microchip info: Make sure your dog’s collar has up-to-date contact info, and double-check their microchip is registered just in case they wander off.
  • Stay cool & hydrated: Always have water available, especially on warm days or while walking the trail. Many local businesses will offer a water bowl if you ask!
  • Be a good guest: Follow leash laws, clean up after your pet, and be respectful of public spaces and private property. It helps keep places pet-friendly for everyone.

🐾 Stretch Your Legs

Harmony Parks
All of Harmony’s public parks are dog-friendly, as long as your pet is leashed (per city ordinance). Whether it’s a quick potty break or a longer picnic stop, the green spaces here are peaceful and well-maintained—perfect for stretching those legs.

Bicyclists share the trail with a dog walker on the Root River State Trail

Harmony-Preston Valley State Trail
This paved recreational trail is a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Dogs are welcome, and it’s a great place to enjoy a scenic walk or jog through the heart of bluff country. Bring a leash, some water, and take in the fresh air.

🐶 Final Thoughts

Harmony offers a relaxed, pet-welcoming atmosphere that makes traveling with your dog easy and enjoyable. From casual eats and friendly shops to green spaces and walking trails, it’s a town that understands dogs are part of the family.

So next time you’re on the road with your pup, make a stop in Harmony—you’ll both be glad you did.
